PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate inspection by adopting a prescribed structure to the surface for placing a semiconductor laser used as a light source of an optical pickup. SOLUTION: In the optical pickup having the light source 1 and an optical guide member, etc., an electrode surface 2a supplying power to the light source 1 is formed widely on the surface of a sub-mount 2 for placing the light source 1, and the electrode surface 2a is divided into a first electrode surface 2c and a second electrode surface 2b by forming a groove part 2d. The first electrode surface 2c is connected to the bottom surface of the placed light source 1 electrically. By electrically connecting the second electrode surface 2b to the upper surface of the light source 1, a light source inspecting inspection probe can be used easily, and such matter that the light source 1 and power source lines for the light source are damaged, is reduced. |
