<p>PURPOSE:To supply working oil to a front oil pressure chamber while the length of a front piston is decreased by partitioning a supply oil chamber, the volume of which is variable according to forward and backward movement of the front piston, between the front piston and the bearing part of a sleeve for supporting a piston rod. CONSTITUTION:In a tandem type master cylinder, a pair of front and rear pistons 81 and 82 energized in the direction of backward movement through the force of a spring are disposed in a cylinder hole 6 of a cylinder body 1, and front and rear oil pressure chambers 101 and 102 are formed in the cylinder hole 6. In this case, the cylinder hole 6 forms a stepped shape, a sleeve 11 is engaged with a large cylinder hole 62, and a rod part 14 at the rear end of a front piston 81 slidably engaged with a small cylinder hole 61 is slidably supported on a bearing part 11a at the front end of the sleeve 11. A seal member 15 brought into slidable close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rod part 14 is mounted on the bearing part 11a of a seal member 15 and partitions a supply oil chamber 201 between the bearing part 11a and the piston 81.</p> |
