PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a small optical part module, a printed board package including it and a method for treating the extra length of the optical fiber. SOLUTION: The optical part module comprises a metal case 60, a plurality of optical parts 23-1, 23-2 fixed in the case, an optical fiber 25 interconnecting the plurality of optical parts, a bobbin securing base 65 in the case, and a single bobbin 66 secured to the base 65 while winding the extra length part of the optical fiber 25. The optical fiber 25 is wound around the bobbin 66 while inverting the bobbin 66 every time when a single turn of the optical fiber 25 is wound. The bobbin 66 is fitted to the base 65 and locked thereat by fitting a rod 66d in a groove 65e. The bobbin securing base 65 has a curved surface for guiding an optical fiber 25 being fed out from the bobbin 66 or fed into the bobbin 66 with a radius of curvature longer than an allowable value. |
