The present invention provides a trisazo dye represented by the formula (I) wherein B is a substituted or non-substituted phenyl group, A is a phenyl group substituted with at least one substituent selected from an amino group, a substituted amino and a hydroxyl group, R is a substituted or non-substituted phenyl group or an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and M is hydrogen, alkali metal, aliphatic alkyl ammonium or alkanol ammonium . An aqueous ink composition and a process for the producing a concentrated solution containing the trisazo dye are also disclosed.
