PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an image, without specifying an image storage device in compliance with an existing standard by allowing an intermediate device to receive an image communication request from an image user device, acting transmission of the image communication request to an image storage device for the image user device and allowing the intermediate device to receive an image sent from the image storage device, so as to act image communication for the image user unit. SOLUTION: Image storage devices 102, 104, 106 are connected to a communication line 200. A communication repeater 302 connected to the communication line 200 is capable of communication, in compliance with the digital imaging communication in Medicine(DICOM) and the communication repeater 302 realizes an example of the embodiments of an intermediate device. An image user device 602 is connected to the communication repeater 302 by a communication line 402. Then the communication repeater 302 receives an image communication request from the image user unit 602 and acts for the image user unit 602 on transmission of the image communication request to the image storage devices 102, 104, 106, and the communication repeater 302 receives an image sent from the image storage devices 102, 104, 106 to act image communication for the image user unit 602. |
