PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image processor by which a specified pattern can be precisely recognized at a high speed. SOLUTION: In the image processing method, when the multi-level image data of a pixel are within a range designating a specified color concerning each of pixels of input color image, the pixel is defined as an ON pixel. Next, the provided binarized image is divided into areas composed of plural pixels. Concerning each of areas, on prescribed conditions, the relevant area is defined as an ON pixel and a pattern composed of a specified shape is detected from provided low resolution data. In this case, when lowering a resolution, concerning an area and an area shifting that area in a prescribed direction, when the number of ON pixels in such an area exceeds a prescribed threshold value, the relevant area is defined as an ON area. Otherwise, concerning each of areas, when the clad of ON pixels exists, the relevant area is defined as an ON pixel. Thus, the resolution can be lowered to easily recognize the specified pattern. |
