PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound useful as a developer high in contrast between a coloring and a decoloring parts, excellent in image retention, capable of reversely coloring and decoloring by heating. SOLUTION: This N-(p-toluenesulfonyl)-N'- N-[(n-alkythio) carbonylamino]phenyl}urea is shown by formula I ((n) is 15-17) (preferable example; a compound of formula I in which the n-alkyl group is n-hexadecyl or n-octadecyl). The compound is obtained by reacting an amine compound of formula II with an isocyanate compound of formula III in the presence of a solvent such as dichloromethane. The compound of formula II, for example, is obtained by reacting 4-nitrophenyl isocyanate with a long-chain aliphatic thiol to give N-(4-nitrophenyl)thiocarbamic acid S-ester and reducing the ester with tin chloride under an acidic condition. |
