PURPOSE:To obtain a synchronizing clock whose reliability is high at the time of operating a data transmission at several mega-BPS on a CATV system by superimposing data synchronizing with a color sub-carrier frequency on the composite synchronizing signal of a color video signal, and transmitting data and a synchronizing clock signal. CONSTITUTION:At a transmission side, a color synchronizing signal generating part 1 generates a composite synchronizing signal, color sub-carrier signal 12, burst flag signal, and blanking signal or the like. A transmission clock generating part 2 receives the signal 12, transmits a clock 17 to a transmitting part 3, and the transmitting part 3 outputs transmission data 18 synchronizing with the signal 12 to a video signal synthesizing part 4. The synthesizing part 4 outputs a color video signal 19 from the signal 12, burst flag signal, and transmission data, and a modulator 5 converts the color video signal 19 into a TV signal, and outputs it. At a reception side, the TV signal is inputted through a tuner 6 and a detector part 7 to a separating part 8 and a data reproducing part 9. A 22 from the reproducing part 9, transmits a clock 21 to a data processing part 11, and the data processing part 11 receives the data synchronously with the clock 21.
