PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system/method for recognizing information and an information recording medium free from troublesomeness in operation for user authentication by dispensing with setting of the favorite condition of each individual user each time of using a terminal in the case of using the terminal which can be used by unspecified many persons. SOLUTION: The information recognition system provides a service for recognizing the user using the user terminal by a server capable of communicating with at least one user terminal through a network. The system has an authentication processing means for performing authentication processing to the user based on recognition information for individually recognizing the user read by the user terminal and previously registered recognition information. Furthermore, the system has a changing means for changing the setting of default setting information set concerning the setting condition of the user terminal to set information set/registered in advance based on the result of authentication by the authentication processing means.
