The present invention relates to a body for a push-pull door lock, which can be used at an inner side or an outer side of a door. The body for a push-pull door lock comprises: a main body case including an accommodation groove and a fixing hinge pin therein; a crank having a fixing hinge pin coupling hole to be coupled to the fixing hinge pin of the main body case and able to rotate, and forming a long hole-shaped shaft gear drive hole at a side of the fixing hinge pin and a long hole-shaped operating piece drive hole at the other side thereof; a shaft gear unit including a shaft coupled to the shaft gear drive hole of the crank and vertically moving when the crank rotates, and a rack gear formed at an end portion of the shaft; a gear unit including a first gear and a second gear operated by the rack gear of the shaft gear unit; a mortise drive shaft engaged with the second gear of the gear unit; and a handle unit including an operating piece coupled to the operating piece drive hole of the crank and rotating a drive shaft of the mortise forward or backward by rotating the crank when a handle is pushed or pulled. When the body for the push-pull door lock is installed at an inner side or an outer side of a door, a limit unit can be installed at either of above and below the shaft gear unit. Thus, components applicable to the inner and outer sides of the door can be commonly used and production costs may be reduced. In addition, the mortise drive shaft is returned accurately to an initial position thereof after operation by a position restoring spring and a returning tension spring of the shaft gear unit. Thus, the reliability of a product may be improved. |
