<p>A closure (40) is provided for the opening (41) to a container (42). The body (50) defines a discharge aperture (60) communicating with the housing. A housing (39) is disposed on the body (50) for movement between a lowered position and an elevated position. The housing (39) defines a dispensing passage (82) for establishing communication between the body discharge aperture (60) and the exterior of the housing (39). The housing (39) includes a dispensing valve (46) disposed in the dispensing passage (82) for opening to dispense fluid therethrough and for closing to occlude flow. The housing (39) includes an occlusion member or plug (114) between the valve (46) and the body discharge aperture (60) to prevent flow from the discharge aperture (60) into the dispensing passage (82) below the valve (46) when the housing (39) is in the lowered position and to permit flow into the dispensing passage (82) when the housing (39) is in elevated position.</p> |
