Anionic disazo compounds of the formula <IMAGE> in which D is the radical of a sulpho group-containing diazo component of the aminobenzene or aminonaphthalene series and R1, R2, R3 and X are as defined in the specification, which compounds are in free acid or salt form and mixtures thereof, are useful for dyeing or printing anionically dyeable organic substrates such as nitrogen-containing substrates, particularly fibre material comprising natural or synthetic polyamide.
