PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image recording medium having a photochromic layer and capable of preventing deterioration of storage stability of a recorded image, especially, caused by development and extinction of color by light in undesired parts and to provide the image recording method. SOLUTION: The photochromic layer 12 of this image recording medium 10 comprises a matrix of a polymer resin containing a photochromic material and the polymer resin does not permit the photochromic material to cause molecular deformation due to light irradiation, until the temperature of the polymer resin reaches the glass transition point of the polymer resin, and color development (recording) is enabled by irradiating the photochromic layer with light, while raising the temperature of the polymer resin matrix to its glass transition point. |
