PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording medium capable of recording, erasing and reproducing information at a high speed and with a high density by irradiation with laser light, etc. SOLUTION: This recording medium has at least a phase transition type optical recording layer and a dielectric layer on the substrate. The dielectric layer contains at least one kind of compd. selected from among sulfides or selenides of group Ha elements and at least one kind of heat resistant compd. having >=1,000 deg.C m.p. or decomposition temp. and other than the sulfides and selenides. |
