PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermal recording material providing less ground fogging in a high temperature environment and less lowering of a recording density with a passage of time, referring to a thermal recording material utilizing a colorless or hypochromic coloration of a basic dye and a coloration agent. SOLUTION: In a thermal recording material provided a recording layer containing a colorless or hypochromic basic dye and a coloration agent, at least one fluoran derivative indicated in the following general formulas is used as a basic dye and 1-[α-methyl-α(4'-hydroxyphenyl)ethyl]-4-[α',α'-bis(4"- hydroxyphenyl)ethyl] benzene is used as a coloration agent in the recording layer. In the formuras, each R, R indicates alkyl groups of C∼C and cycloalkyl groups or tolyl groups of C∼C. R, R may form a hetero cycle with a neighboring nitrogen atom. Then, each R, R indicates alkyl groups or phenyl radicals of C∼C. R, R may form a cycloalkane of C∼C with a neighboring carbon atom. |
