PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color picture tube device to make image display of good workmanship over the whole area of screen by correcting the astigmatism generated by a deflecting magnetic field. SOLUTION: This color picture tube device is equipped with electron guns 27 emitting three electron beams installed in in-line arrangement passing in the same plane and a deflection yoke, wherein the main lens part of each electron gun is furnished with a first multi-polar lens whose correcting action for the deflecting aberration is strong in the sequence of one side beamβ, center beamαand the other side beamγ, and a second multi-polar lens which has a function to weaken the correcting action of the first multi-polar lens for the side beamβand strengthen the action for the other side beamγand functions stronger in the peripheral zone of a fluorescent screen on the side with the side beamγthan in the peripheral zone of the fluorescent screen on the side with the side beamβ.
