PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing unit for the wet type electrophotographic printer where a phenomenon of an image that is developed on a photoreceptor belt is soiled by a sqeezy roll can be prevented. SOLUTION: In the device, a cleaning roller that is installed to maintain a specified gap from a sqeezy roller, a first voltage applying part to apply voltage to the sqeezy roller and a second voltage applying part applying voltage that is lower than that for the sqeezy roller to the cleaning roller are provided and it is constituted so that toner particles stuck to the sqeezy roller are transited to the cleaning roller through a developing liquid film that is formed in the gap due to the difference in the voltage. Thus, the toner particles stuck to the sqeezy roller can be eliminated by electrical force.
