<p>A head gimbal assembly is provided with a suspension extended along the surface of a recording medium and capable of bending and deforming in the thickness direction of the recording medium, a slider provided on the front end side of the suspension so as to face the surface of the recording medium, a support section for supporting, at a position opposite the recording medium across the slider, the slider such that the slider can pivot about two axes parallel to the surface of the recording medium and perpendicular to each other, and an optical waveguide connected to the slider and introducing a light flux, which is emitted from a light source, into the slider. The slider is provided with a spot light generating element for causing spot light to be generated from the light flux and causes the spot light to record information on the recording medium. A positioning section having a flat surface used for positioning between the optical waveguide and the slider is mounted between the support section and the slider.</p> |
