<p>1491263 Single cell proteins H MULLER 20 June 1975 [21 June 1974] 26424/75 Heading C3H In a process for the recovery of a substantially protein-free liquor from a fermented liquor obtained by the cultivation of a micro-organism in an aqueous nutrient medium to obtain single cell proteins, the single cell protiens suspended in fermented liquor are separated from the accompanying medium and then the resulting medium is treated to separate a further proteincontaining fraction therefrom to yield a substantially protein-free aqueous liquor containing plant growth promoting and plant growth inhibiting substances. The example describes the continuous formentation of transenulla polymorpha (a yeast strain), separation of the cell suspension using centrifugation and ultrafiltration. The protein free effluent was used to compare its ability to inhibit the germination of maize with other liquids.</p> |
