PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber assembly that is excellent in handleability and water resistance, and can be easily applied to various applications.SOLUTION: A fiber assembly of the invention is a fiber assembly formed by binding polyvinyl alcohol with a polymer including an acid anhydride group. The fiber assembly has an elongation of 20% or more both in the longitudinal direction and in the lateral direction. The mass reduction ratio of the fiber assembly after being immersed in a hot water of 80°C for 30 minutes is 5% or less. Preferably an amino acid is further bonded to the fiber. Since the fiber assembly of the invention is less likely to break during manufacture or during use and is excellent in water resistance, it can be easily applied to various applications.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
