The vaccine may also contain an adjuvant such as aluminium hydroxide or phosphate and/or a pharmaceutically suitable carrier. The immunologically competent cells may be from human or animal lymphs, lymph nodes, spleen, peritoneal exudates and pheripheral leukocytes (blood). The antigen used may be from bacteria, viruses or their subunits or snake poison, e.g. tetanus and diphtheria toxin; the products of metabolism or degradation of Bordetella pertussio, Mycobacterlium tuberculosis, salmonellae, shigellae, brucellae; influenza, influenza haemagglutinim, polio viruses or their protein envelope, measles, rabies, foot and mouth disease, smallpox, swine fever, distemper, hepatitis contagiosa canis and encephalitis viruses. |
