The ambient fluid pressure within the container and chamber is equalized through the vents 13 but since these do not permit material to flow therethrough the pressure of material on the diaphragm 11 causes the thrust rod 14 to move axially along the bore 16 and hence effect control through a throttle 18 of a fluid pressure valve 19. The thrust member 14 may be supported by a spider or a further diaphragm 17 which is exposed to atmospheric pressure.</p> |
