<p>Flexible sheet material is patterned by pressing the material from the sides into a flat horizontal strand over the width of which the treatment liquid, e.g. dye is applied. After this the material is bujected to fixing treatment. The patterning method is suitable for all materials which tend to form uniform folds, e.g. fleece, textiles in general, and also plastics such as thin foamed plastic widths. It provides an irregular pattern at regular intervals, i.e. a tangle of colour with uniformly recurring characteristics, exhibiting a batik-type effect.</p> |
