PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to adjust the position of a photodetector after it is mounted on a recorder main body by constituting a photosensitive body member and a photoelectric converting means for detecting the start point of a beam scan on the photosensitive body member in one unit, and setting the relation between an exposure scanning line and a photodetecting means on the unit. CONSTITUTION:Photosensitive body supporting bodies 11 and 12 support the rotary shaft of the photosensitive body member 4 at both ends, so a photosensitive body device is mounted on the recorder main body, so that the photosensitive body member 4 functions as the image forming member of a recorder. A plank member SC1 connecting with shaft supporting means SM1 and SM2 of photosensitive body support bodies 11 and 12 extends in parallel to a rotary shaft while a light transmission area 6 of at least specific width which allows the projection of light along a straight line parallel to the center shaft is left on the cylindrical flank of the photosensitive body member 4, and the photodetecting means 13 is mounted on the photosensitive body support 4 to detect part of light projected along the straight line. Thus, the relation between the exposure scanning line and photodetecting means is set, so the position of the photodetector need not be adjusted after the photosensitive body device is mounted on the recording device main body.
