摘要 PURPOSE: To form a high-resolution image without a defect by heating the surface of an image receiving body to a specified temperature before coming into contact with a developed image and non-electrostatically transferring the developed image on the surface whose average roughness is smaller than the radius of a toner particle. CONSTITUTION: The electrostatic latent image on a drum 3 is developed by applying the toner particles 6 whose particle size is <8μm. The surface of the image receiving sheet 1 is heated by a heater 2 before it is brought into contact with the developed image 9 so Tg of that toner binder may be at a temperature between 10 deg.C and 20 deg.C which is high enough to weld the individual toner particles 6 but at which they do not form a single lump. Then, the developed image 9 is non-electrostatically transferred on the surface whose average roughness is smaller than the radius of the toner particle 6, and the surface is heated to the temperature high enough to weld the developed image 9. Thus, the high-quality image without a defect is formed.
