PURPOSE: To hold a gas or liquid seal for a reagent bottle when the reagent bottle is not set to an analytical instrument as well as to hold a liquid seal while aspirating the liquid from the bottle when the reagent bottle is set to the analytical instrument. CONSTITUTION: While aspirating a liquid from a reagent bottle 40, a structure is formed so as to allow ambient air or gas to enter into the reagent bottle 40 to replace the aspirated liquid. An opening 48 of the reagent bottle 40 is sealed by a valve assembly 50. A tube 61 is extended into the liquid inside the reagent bottle 40 from the valve assembly 50. A fluid coupling means 54 is removably connected to the analytical instrument and the valve assembly 50, thus the analytical instrument is effectively connected to the tube 61.
