PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a liquid crystal display device which is capable of producing the liquid crystal display device having terminal electrodes formed of metal allowing the easy formation of an insulative oxidized film on the surface by inspecting the lighting thereof with high reliability. SOLUTION: This process for producing the liquid crystal display device 10 has a stage for foming a liquid crystal panel substrate 30 having the terminal electrodes consisting of aluminum corresponding to respective electrodes for display, a stage for forming the liquid crystal display device 10 by sealing liquid crystals between a pair of the liquid crystal panel substrates 2 and 30, a stage for connecting a high-voltage source 74 to a rubber connector 66 in the state of bringing the rubber connector 66 for inspection into abutment on the terminal electrode and a stage for carrying out the lighting inspection of the liquid crystal display device 10 by changing over the connection to the rubber connector 66 to an inspection device 80 in the state of maintaining the state that the rubber connector 66 is brought into abutment on the terminal electrode.
