PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the thermal responsiveness of a safety device for interrupting power supply to a fixing roller when the fixing roller gets in an overheat state in a fixing device having the fixing roller and a sheet type pressure member. SOLUTION: The safety device 16 is supported to move up and down by a supporting member 17. The device 16 is supported by the member 17 having elasticity in an up-and-down direction by making the device 16 abut on a part on an opposite side to the abutting part of the sheet type pressure member 13 on the fixing roller 12 at both ends of the roller 12 being the paper non- passing area in the case of attaching the roller 12.
