In a light detecting device (3), alignment marks (18A, 18B) are formed as alignment references for a light detecting element (11) on the front side surface of the light detecting element (11). A pin base (13) is provided with a fitting pin (32) having a screw, and the fitting pin (32) is to be fitted in a cold plate (2) and is accurately aligned with the light detecting element (11), through an alignment section (33) aligned with the alignment marks (18A, 18B) exposed from a slit section (23) and a notched section (24) of a wiring board (12). Thus, in the light detecting device (3), the light detecting element (11) is accurately aligned with the cold plate (2) by only fitting the fitting pin (32) in a recessed section (4) of the cold plate (2).
