According to the present invention, a liquid crystal display panel and a manufacturing method thereof are disclosed. More specifically, the liquid crystal display panel comprises: a substrate; a thin film transistor arranged on the substrate; an overcoat layer arranged on the thin film transistor and including a contact hole; a pixel electrode arranged to surround the contact hole; and a contact electrode configured to electrically connect a drain electrode of the thin film transistor to the pixel electrode through the contact hole. The overcoat layer is manufactured by including a material which does not need an exposure process so that the liquid crystal display panel simplifies processes, reduces manufacturing costs, and improves a transmission rate.
