PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a heat accumulating tank of a desired capacity by a method wherein a plurality of annular vessels each having a heat accumulating substance sealed therein are packed in layers within a canister provided with an air passage extending along the vertical axis of the canister. CONSTITUTION:The annular vessel 2 each having the heat accumulating substance 1 sealed therein are packed in layers within the canister 4 provided with the air passage 3 extending along the vertical axis thereof. The canister 4 may be, for example, in the form of a cylindrical drum having a capacity equal to a drum can of 4.765 galons or so. Further, the canister 4 is provided with a small cylinder 8 extending vertically along the axis thereof so as to pass through a bottom plate 9 and an upper cover 10. In this case, the small cylinder 8, the bottom plate 9, the upper cover 10 and the outer periphery of the trunk of the canister 4 are connected airtight to one another and the clearances among the packed annular vessels 2 and the clearance between each of the vessels 2 and the canister 4 are filled with a heat transfer substance. |
