PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain copper acetate reutilizable by recovering an insolubilized and deactivated copper catalyst and regenerating the catalyst by reacting AKATAMA-ISHI (red and glossy boulder) present as a deactivated form of the copper catalyst after completing the reaction using the catalyst containing a copper compound. CONSTITUTION:AKATAMA-ISHI, expressed by the formula Cu2(OH)3Cl and existing as one kind of a deactivated state of a copper catalyst in a solution after completing the reaction using a catalyst containing a copper compound such as the Hoechst-Wacker process for oxidizing ethylene, propylene, etc., and respectively producing acetaldehyde, acetone, etc., is dispersed in water. Acetic acid is then added thereto and reaction is carried out at 40 deg.C for 2hr to convert the AKATAMA-ISHI into copper acetate according to the reaction expressed by the formula (Ac is acetyl). Thereby, the copper compound can effectively be recovered and regenerated from the AKATAMA-ISHI.
|
