PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting defect detection device for a strip rubber material securely detecting a cutting defect in the strip rubber material. SOLUTION: A pair of sensors 1, 2 placed at locations shifted at a predetermined distance L2 between the sensors in a transfer direction of a strip rubber material A with a predetermined distance L1 between the sensors in a width direction of a strip rubber material A. Distinguishing whether or not the difference between detecting times the respective of sensors 1, 2 is within a predetermined allowable range, securely detects the cutting defects in the strip rubber material A since the difference between detecting times of the respective sensors, 1, 2 is beyond the allowable range when a cutting defect B occurs at an end in the width direction of the strip rubber material A.
