PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the improvement in filtration efficiency, the lowering of an addition rate of active carbon and driving power for filtration possible. SOLUTION: Raw water (a) for treatment is introduced into an intimate mixing tank 2. The powder active carbon is added to the raw water by a pump p1 from an active carbon supply tank 21 and is intimately mixed therewith. This raw water is then fed by a pump p3 into filtration equipment 3 in which monolith type ceramic membrane bodies 4 are housed. The monolith type ceramic membrane bodies 4 are pressurized and packed into plural inner cylinders and the whole volume of the raw water is extruded toward the outer side of the monolith type ceramic membrane bodies 4 with the inner cylinders 41 as a primary side, by which the soluble materials and suspendable materials in the raw water are removed.
