A wet liner 12 comprises a composite structure of two metal liners, the inner liner 14 being of hardened and tempered metal strip. The initially flat rectangular smooth surfaced steel strip may be pressed as an interference fit, with edges abutting at 17, into the cylindrical bore of the aluminium or aluminium alloy outer liner.
