PURPOSE:To obtain the aluminum member consisting of an aluminum base material having excellent heat resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., and excellent durability. CONSTITUTION:The aluminum content in a copper alloy which is a build-up material consisting of a copper material is previously set low as compared with the aluminum content of a desired build-up alloy compsn. An element having high affinity to hydrogen is incorporated into the build-up material and is alloyed with the aluminum of the base material at the time of building up by the irradiation with a high-density energy heat source, by which the desired build-up alloy compsn. is obtd. In addition, the gaseous hydrogen generated by the base material is trapped, by which the aluminum base material is subjected to the building up without generating holes at the boundary between the inside of the build-up alloy and the base material and without forming a brittle intermediate alloy layer between the base material and the build-up alloy layer. |
