PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent salt water of a specified concentration from being fed to an electrolytic water production device and to stabilize the properties of electrolytic water by putting in an object having a density which floats, when the concentration of the salt water is more than a specified value, into a salt water container. SOLUTION: An object 8 having the same density as that of the salt water of a prescribed salt water concentration is put into the salt water container 3. Salt and water are charged into the salt water container 3 to produce the salt water, and when the salt water concentration of the salt water is lower than the normal value, the object 8 sinks on the bottom of the salt water container 3. When the salt concentration is higher than the prescribed value by dissolving more salt with agitation or adding salt, etc., the object floats, thus it is confirmed that the salt concentration of the salt water has been higher than the prescribed concentration. Hence, the salt water lower than the prescribed concentration can be prevented from being fed to the electrolytic water production device, and the properties of the electrolytic water to be electrolyzed in the electrolytic water production device can be stabilized.
