PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light and low-cost variable displacement compressor, while simplifying the structure to fix a guide pin at a cam plate as responsiveness to excellent capacity control is ensured. SOLUTION: A rotary support body 19 is integrally rotatably attached on a drive shaft 16 and a swash plate 20 is inclinably supported. The rotary support body 19 is coupled to the swash plate 20 via a hinge mechanism 21, and the outer peripheral part of the swash plate 20 is moored at a piston 22. The hinge mechanism 21 comprises a guide part 36 situated in a linearly extending state at the rotary support body 19, and a guide pin 34 protruded from the swash plate 20 and slidably engaged with the guide part 36. The guide pin 34 is arranged, such that an axis AXp extends in the direction extending approximately orthogonally to the axis AXg of the guide part 36.
