PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To made a simple structure without a commutator or a brush using single-phase windings and bidirectional switching elements and to achieve large output power and high efficiency. SOLUTION: A first object 160 having a single-phase windings 167 and a second object 161 having permanent magnets 169, 170 provided in such a way as to be movable relatively to the first object 160 are provided. Electric current supplied to the windings 167 is effectively controlled and high efficiency is achieved by controlling the on-off timing of first switching elements 171, 174 and second switching elements 172, 173 with a control circuit 165.
