FLUORESCENT MATERIAL, DISPLAYS MADE BY USING THE SAME, PLASMA DISPLAY PANELS, AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION TEHREOF

<p>A fluorescent material (23) for PDP or other displays, which comprises plural inorganic pigment particles (31) having a black tone and plural fluorescent substance particles (32) covering the surfaces of the inorganic pigment particles (31) and in which the mean particle diameter of the fluorescent substance particles (32) is smaller than that of the pigment particles (31). The material can lower the reflectance of visible rays except emitted rays while inhibiting the display luminance of a display from lowering, thus bringing about improvement in bright-room contrast.</p>
