An image display device and a power control method for securing module reliability are provided to solve inconvenience for setting a power sequence according to a module change by driving the module applying the power sequence according to the kind of the connected module. A power control method of an image display device is as follows. The kind of the display module connected present is determined(S40). The power sequence information according to the kind of the discriminated display module is read out(S60). The corresponding drive power to the connected display module based upon the power sequence information read out(S90).
