Removal of constructional bolts - involves two=part tool with socket at one end and driving ratchet at other
摘要
The tool is intended for removing constructional bolts in which the recessed head is secured against rotation by a cross-pin welded into the recess. It is in two parts: an adaptor piece (1) with a socket at one end to suit the head of the bolt to be removed and a driving ratchet (13) at the other; and a housing (2) having a trepanning cutter (3) surrounding the socket head of the adaptor and driving the adaptor through radially sliding dogs (8). The adaptor can slide back into the housing against spring pressure. To remove a bolt the socket is engaged and the trepanning cutter rotated against the bolt head, the adaptor remaining still. When the welded part of the bolt-head has been milled off, the housing is rotated in the reverse direction causing the ratchet to drive the adaptor round and unscrew the bolt. USE/ADVANTAGE - Bolts with welded heads can be extracted in one operation.
