LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND MANUFACTURE OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To return a picture element having a point defect to a normal state without damaging a wiring by forming a part where the gate wiring and a picture element electrode are not overlapped on a side in which the picture element electrode is brought into contact with the gate wiring or which has a part where they are overlapped. SOLUTION: A gate wiring 2 is formed on a glass substrate and a silicone nitride film and a semiconductor pattern 4 are formed. Source and drain electrodes 5a and 5b are formed by conductor films and a flattened film 6 is applied. A hole is made in the flattened film 6 on the drain electrode 5b, a picture element electrode 8 is formed on it and it is connected to the drain electrode 5b. The picture element electrode 8 is formed so that it is on the same plane as the gate wiring and the source wiring or they are overlapped with them. Notch parts 10 which are not overlapped with the gate wiring are formed in two places on the upper side of the picture element electrode. The picture element electrode is cut by laser irradiation from the part where one gate wiring/the picture element electrode are not overlapped to the part where the other gate wiring/the picture electrode are not overlapped, and a short-circuit defective part is removed.
