<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oval polarizing plate which is excellent in durability under a high temperature/low humidity condition and high temperature/high humidity condition, along with a manufacturing method thereof and a liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: The oval polarizing plate comprises at least two layers of adhesive layers a and b. The adhesive layer a is provided between the polarizing plate and one surface of a film. The adhesive layer b is provided on the other surface of the film, which is the side to be pasted to a liquid crystal cell, directly or with another layer in between. The film thickness of the adhesive layer b is 20μm or less, while the film thickness ratio (a/b) between the adhesive layers b and a is adjusted to be 0.1-0.7.
