<p>Aircraft arrestor wires. Made from textile fibres with a good elasticity which are stretched across the runway and hooked by braking hooks on the aircraft. The wires are held above the surface of the runway by discs attached to them, and are secured on either side on braking systems. In this way short landings are possible.</p> |
