1505216 Dye thread markers GERBER GARMENT TECHNOLOGY INC 26 April 1976 [20 Jan 1976] 16780/76 Heading DIG An apparatus for marking fabric using a dye thread comprises a plunger carrying a needle 72 through whose eye 74 the dye thread T passes from a delivery spool to a take up spool, the plunger being reciprocatable through fabric and means being provided to index the take up spool. The plunger is a fluid operated piston rod 48 which carries guide bars 64, 66 on which the spools are mounted. The plunger is returned to its rest position by a spring 54. The delivery spool is restrained by a friction member 90 and the take-up spool is mounted on a one way clutch 106 allowing rotation only in a take up direction. The take up spool periphery engages a friction member 114 on a fixed part of the apparatus so that descent of the plunger and hence the spools brings about a finite rotation of the take up spool on each stroke. The apparatus is mounted on the travelling head of a fabric cutting machine together with a cutting tool. A micro switch 130 prevents movement of the travelling head except when the plunger is in its retracted position.
