PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a reinforced superconducting material with high mechanical strength, without decreasing superconducting performance by covering the surface of a whicker-shaped or fibrous reinforced material with silver or platinum so as to prevent the interface reaction between an oxide superconducting material and the reinforced material. SOLUTION: In order to prevent the interface reaction of an oxide superonducting material, such as Ba(Pb, Bi)O3 , or SrTiO3 of a perovskite-type compound and a wicker- shaped or fibrous reinforced material of a ceramic family such as silicon carbide or metal family such as copper, the surface of the reinforced material is covered with silver or platinum. As the covering process, electrodes plating may be employed because the process is simple and a uniform film is formed. A reinforced material- containing composite oxide superconducting material is maufactured by a sintering process or a melting process. In the sintering process, fine power of a row material oxide and the reinforced material whose surface is covered with sliver or platinum are mixed and sintered, and in the melting process, the reinforced material covered with platinum is added to the molten oxide superconducting material, and they are dispersed uniformly. |
