GENE CODING POLYPEPTIDE HAVING PRELIMINARILY B CELL-MULTIPLYING AND SUPPORTING ABILITY

PURPOSE:To obtain a novel DNA useful for the production of an adhesive factor having a preliminarily B cell-multiplying and supporting ability and used as a reagent for identifying multiple myeloma(MM) and chronic articular rheumatism(RA) and as a reagent for clinically diagnosing these diseases. CONSTITUTION:A DNA coding a polypeptide having a preliminarily B cell- multiplying and supporting ability (e.g. a part of the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide composed of 318 amino acids is represented by the formula). A cDNA library is produced from a mRNA prepared from a stroma cell strain originated from the bone marrow of a chronic articular rheumatism patient, and a transformant strongly reacting with a monoclonal antibody produced from hybridoma SG2 is screened from the produced cDNAs. The cDNAs used for the production are further divided, and again inserted into expression vectors. Transformants strongly reacting with the antibody are screened. The process for obtain the novel adhesive factor gene having a preliminarily B cell-multiplying and supporting ability.
