PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute control provided with a mode for inhibiting an automatic starting operation, after the jam of a document is released, in an automatic starting copy by an automatic document feeder. SOLUTION: A copying operation is interrupted because the jam of the document occurs during the copying operation and the automatic document feeder (B) is opened to remove the jammed document. When the automatic document feeder (B) is closed again to release the jammed state of the document (step S116), a document-feed automatic start inhibiting flag is turned on (step S119) when the document still remains on the automatic document feeder (B), after the jam of the document is released (step S117). On the contrary, when the document does not exist, the document-feed automatic start, inhibiting flag is tuned off (step S118). Thus, even if the document remains on the automatic document feeder (B) after the jam of the document is released, the control for inhibiting the automatic starting operation by the detection of the document is executed and enough time for resetting the removed jammed document is imparted. |
