Ground plane patch radiator with co-fed parasitic side patches

A radiating element that comprises a ground plane (1), a patch (2) spaced apart from the ground plane and a further patch or parasitic elements (4 or 5) spaced apart from the ground plane and a first edge of the patch. An upper patch (3) may also be present, stacked above the ground plate. A radiating element is provided between the patch and the further patch being positioned to excite both the patch and the further patch. The radiating element is suitable for dual polarized operation in a linear antenna array.
